When we are making cabinets, doors, windows and other joinery items withtimber we need to mcheck the timber for square striagth and twist.
Twist is especially important because while a piece of material make check out with square edges at severla locataions along the length, it may infact have twist in it. Twisted timber means twisted fames that means a twisted construction. we always try and start a project withthe best quality materials possible and this means timber that is true straight and square.
We can check for square with a combination square and we can check for straight with a straight edge but for twist
we can use winding sticks.
